As we gear up for Modern Marketing Experience Europe, 14-16 October, at the Hilton Metrople, we wanted to share some special local scoop. 1. The National Gallery– The National Gallery hosts work from famous masters of art, including Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Goya, Constable, and Hogarth. The 19th century art museum is currently home to a collection of more than 2,300 paintings, dating from the mid 13th century to 1900. An added bonus: admission is free!
2. Trafalgar Square – In close proximity to The National Gallery in the heart of London, Trafalgar Square is one of the city’s most vibrant, open spaces. The lively landmark is often used for a wide range of activities including: special events and celebrations like the Royal Wedding, Olympics One Year to Go, St Patrick's Day, and Chinese New Year; filming and photography; and rallies and demonstrations. It’s also home to the Fourth Plinth, which has been a centrepiece for some of the world’s most provocative contemporary public art since 1999.
3. Tower of London/Tower Bridge – A celebration of architecture, the massive stone tower was built by William the Conqueror in the early 1080s, at the center of his London fortress. The Tower museum now hosts a special selection of cultural history, including some of the most rare and beautiful diamonds in the world as part of the Crown Jewels.
4. Borough Market – A forum exchange for buying and selling food, the Borough Market is a unique corner of London that captures the city’s rich culinary history. A source of quality British and international produce, the market is a great place to discover the tastes, aromas, textures and colours of fresh, seasonal food.
5. British Museum – Dedicated to human history and culture, the permanent collection at the British Museum is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world, boasting some 8 million works from all continents. The collection illustrates and documents the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.
